“Who Saw the Comet Last?” January 26, 6pm
The Dubois Museum will hose “Who Saw the Comet Last?” January 26th at 6pm.
Have you heard about the newest comet in our sky? C/2022 E3 (ZTF) may not be a very catchy name, but it’s still making a stir! The comet was discovered by researchers last year, who calculated that the last time it passed by Earth was 50,000 years ago! What was Wyoming like when C/2022 E3 (ZTF) last passed by?
Come to Dubois Museum: Wind River Historical Center to learn about the wild animals that saw this comet last, including massive mammoths, American lions, camels, and sloths. At a time when Neanderthals were dominating Europe and humans were starting to spread across Asia, the Earth was covered in the last Ice Age, coating down to the top of Montana, Germany, and Siberia in glaciers.
This is a Wyoming Community Bank Discovery Speakers Series program.Tell a Friend
